ARCHITECTURE
This marvellous construction captures the visitors with its fascinating architectural specifications.
Three-storeyed, having a garden, Kaymakam house reflects typical early Nomadic Turkmen style building. The ground floor of house with 7 rooms includes various wooden stuffs decorated with the stone cladding. Also the walls of the ground floor were made of stone to reinforce of the structure and to protect from any outside dangers.
On the other hand, the upper storeys of the building were used timber framed and mud-brick filling materials. Doors, ceiling and floor woodwork, wood carvings, and closets were made from yellow pine.
The first and second floors were surrogated by the sofa which is the central plan of the building. The two enchanting rooms located on the entry of stairs are named ‘’Selamlık or Salutation’’ (public area) while the upper floor and opposite section consist of ‘’Harem’’ (private area). Each room features a sedir (sofa) order of the seating, with meals on floor table, and include bathroom situated in closet, where beds are kept. Moreover, there is placed a special whirling closet between Harem and Salutation area. This unique, two- faced material was separately designed. One side was only for men on the other hand the other is for women. It provided to be serviced the meals privately. In addition, those rooms illuminated by the way of windows create a dreamy atmosphere here.
Except for those sections, Kaymakam house includes Head Room, Bride’s Room, Chest Room, Children Room and Cellar.
Head Room;
Used as a guest room, the glorious part is located on the top floor of the building where is the best façade with fancy ceiling. When you step in here, you realize that it has the best of wood ornament craftsmanship and its windows spread the daylight from both directions which grabs the visitors a long time.
Bride’s Room;
This multi-dimensional section used by the eldest bride of the house. It contains movable furniture such as bed, cradle which shows us it is one of the most significant places. It was also used as a gateway between chest room and children room.
Children Room;
Once upon a time elder children and adopted daughters stayed here. Although this room covered with magnificent carvings and contains, a sofa layout, windows overlooking the street and closets but there are no found wooden sculpturing on the ceiling.
Chest Room;
It was used as a connecting room between the bride’s room and children room. Bride’s wedding chest, equipment, as well as iron and sewing machine are reserved in chest room.
Cellar;
Stuffs for food required in the kitchen are hold in the cellar. There are found storages and a wire closet here.
